It’s not always easy to get motivated in life. Sometimes you’re on top of everything and sometimes you’re lost!
I’m tired, I’m too busy, no time, no energy, it’s cloudy, it’s raining, I have no motivation… I kind of lost hope. There’s always a reason, an excuse! We’ve all been there.
We all get sidetracked from time to time and have a hard time getting back on track. So here are some simple, yet effective ways for you to get the motivation back.
Don’t Let Fear, Disappointment Or Failure Drag You Dawn
We all have ups and downs. The key here is not letting a setback drag you down or stop you from achieving your goals.
What are you afraid of? Figuring out what freaks you out can help you get things done. Most of the the things you’re scared of are actually not so scary, not real. It’s usually you thinking all kinds of stuff in your mind, overreacting, over analyzing.
Are you afraid you’ll fail? Look…we all fail. So what? That should not hold you back. Everyone fails but failure it’s not the end. Failure it’s actually a success. How so? Well you learn from it right? That’s how you learn what works and what doesn’t.
Best Time Of The Day For You
Are you a morning person? Maybe you like afternoons or love staying up all night? Find out when you’re most productive and use that time to get things done.
You might be productive for different things at different times of the day. Whatever time it is, morning or night, find out when’s the best time for you and do it.
Refocus Your Attention
Don’t lose your focus. You’ll also lose motivation. During the day your attention will go to different things. Some which won’t be helpful or meaningful for what you want to accomplish. It’s easy to get distracted. Snap out of it and refocus your attention on what’s really important.
Don’t let social media hold you back. I know it’s part of everyday life but most of the times you’ll get so hooked on… by the time you’re finishing and want to start your work, let me guess, you’re already tired, right? And when did the time go so fast?
Don’t Take More Than You Can Carry… Seriously!
Too overwhelming? Too hard? To much to do? No time? No motivation!
Overcharging and taking more than you can handle it’s not the way to do it. You’ll end up with a lot of unfinished things. Not the best way to succeed!
Take A Break!
Some days will be better than others. But hey… it’s ok! Take a break. It’s great to let go and forget about it for a while. Learn to appreciate all that is around you.
These days people get so caught up in everyday stress that they forget to really live. They lose focus of everything else, of what’s really important to them, their true feelings, wants and needs. Connect with nature, spend some time with your family, play with your dog.
Enjoy a good day outside, breathe the fresh air, go fishing, visit new places, meditate…whatever you enjoy doing.
Make It Fun
Set the mood, whatever gets you into that vibe that you need to get your motivation back and things done. Make your workplace fun and inspiring.
Decorate it with some really cool things, a motivating wall can help you to always remember your goals, maintain your focus and get you back on track. Make your environment creative, make it yours, go crazy… it’s your space!

Will Power
Ok now, all these tips I wrote above will help you but, what will always put you on track and help you complete whatever you’re doing and achieve your goals is willpower. Understand that you’re doing this for yourself. No tips or tricks will help you if you’re not willing to put some effort in.
Be honest here, be honest with yourself. Do you really want to succeed at whatever goal you have set your mind to? Or you just kind of want it? Would love to but…? Not really up for the work it takes to do it?
Ask yourself what’s the alternative? What have you got to lose? You can always come back to whatever you’re doing right now.
Remember yourself why you are doing it. Stop finding excuses, time goes away so fast and it’s a valuable asset. You won’t get this time back.
Just Start!
It’s ok if you have no idea what to do or what you want. Most people go through this. And it’s the perfect time to know yourself, to explore your talents, skills and learn. Start where you are with what you’ve got.
Just start, you’ll might end up with what you want or something else, something better. Often people will start doing something they think they like and soon find out what they truly want. It’s part of the process.
It takes time like workout results. You can’t expect to go to the gym once and wake up with a toned and fit body or eat one healthy meal and lose weight.
It’s a constant process, it requires a lot of discipline, willpower and time. But if you’re up for it, the results will be wonderful.
Good advice!
Thank you! Enjoy your week 🙂
What a wonderful post. Very motivating. Thank you.
Thank you Miriam ! 🙂
Solid advice with suggestions to apply and ponder.
Thank you Sally!
These are great ways to get motivated, and agree with all of them. Failure doesn’t mean we can’t try again or pick ourselves up and try a different approach to get where we want to be. Others might laugh, but that is them, not us. When we fall, we learn and we learn to be stronger.
I am every bit the night person, feeling most alert at night. So when night rolls around, I usually make time for something I really want to do and enjoy doing, such as writing or playing video games. I think it’s important to do something that makes you happy at certain times of the day – it gives you something to look forward to and feel good about yourself 🙂
Absolutely …failure it’s just a way to learn what works and what doesn’t. You just have to look at it from a different perspective.
It’s not an easy thing to do and you won’t master it in a day, but with time, you’ll understand that one failure doesn’t define you and it’s not the end. It might actually be a great start!
I’m with you on the night person type 🙂 It’s when I feel most creative ! 🙂
Have a great day Mabel!
